Mr. Emmerich reminded the students that they should automatically set aside 30% of their income for taxes so they are never surprised by a big tax bill.

About Me
I am currently a senior at Belleville West High School. A close associate suggested that I join CEO to further my business education.
Outside of school, I work at the Christian Activity Center in East St. Louis. I also volunteer frequently with my church and at the Fairmont City Library. I was also the founder of a landscaping company over this past summer, and hoping to expand in the future. During my free I play lacrosse and do mixed martial arts. While doing mixed martial arts, I have been lucky enough to travel to Africa and Nicaragua.
I plan to expand my business or start a new one using the connections and business skills that I will receive from this class while pursuing a degree.

This week we had the trade show, I was very nervous at first meeting all those people and thinking my booth would be underpar. I think it turned out nice even though I was not able to get my banner. I am also happy Mrs. Boyer took us out to eat and hanging out with everyone afterwards.

...On Wednesday we met at the Eggs & Issues to talk about CEO and get acquainted with local businesses around Belleville. We all sat at different tables for the most part. I sat at a table with Gonzalez (Engineering and Construction Firm). They were very nice and included me in the conversation; not leaving me out. At first, I did not know that they were a construction company until later on in the event. As the conversation continued, we began to talk about internships and shadowing days so I can see an engineer in action. The only difference is that I want to go into aerospace or mechanical engineering, but all of the basics are the same for the most part. Mr. Gilroy and Miss Hayes were nice and handed me a business card for future use...

...On Thursday we said farewell to PPM. Before leaving Mrs. Renae Eichholz shared her life story with us as a class and it was emotional and inspiring hearing about the tribulation in her life that she overcame. One of the things I found most interesting is how she told us the story of how she played a part in revolutionizing her field of work with technology. After she finished her story we presented her with the flowers that we bought for her as a going away present, then took a picture. I will miss being at PPM, but all good things must come to an end eventually i guess. ...

Monday was kind of a blur to remember, but Tuesday was the highlight of my week. We visited Kaskaskia Engineering firm. Mrs. Geri Boyer showed us a presentation in the conference room. It was very interesting how she cared so much for her employees moral. She cares so much that she installed cable in all the rooms with a television so the children can stay occupied while their parents work. She also keeps dogs in the office to boost moral if someone is having a bad day. She also talked about their core values and how they all take a test to find everyone’s strengths. After the tour we took a picture as a group with Mrs. Geri Boyer and the dogs. Afterwards I stayed behind and talked to her about my interest in engineering. She told me to stop by so we could set up a day for me to hang out around the office for a day and speak with the other engineers. She then told me if I do come she then will try to get an aerospace engineer to talk to me also.
On Wednesday we had to go to a conference. When we arrived I was slow to engage in small talk but when I did I met a Jefferson County President, Jeff Haarmann. He invited us to go to the Blues stadium with his group. He gave me a card which got passed on to Mrs. Siebers. The conference overall though I thought it was too long, but I enjoyed hearing the Elvis impersonators story.
