Belleville CEO Student and CEO of Harmony Heat Makhi Holtman shared three key things that he learned in CEO this year in his final presentation. “Life ain’t no laser beam - One of the first things we read in our book together was that life ain’t no laser beam. Over this past year, we can all agree that this class has not been a laser beam at all. Whenever it came to our class business or our personal business, it was good to learn this lesson early on because it is okay if not everything falls into place because that’s when we can learn and become better. Being better at small talk - Before CEO, small talk was not one of my best traits at all. However, during this year and especially 1st semester, I have learned how to create small talk with adults during our mentor matches, mayor's breakfast, etc. Google Sheets - Whenever we started our portfolio, we started to use sheets a lot. In these sheets, I noticed formulas and learned that knowing these formulas and how to use google sheets is very important. So in my free time I helped teachers put in grades on sheets and put formulas to help calculate semester averages.” Makhi will be attending Mizzou for business administration and minor in accounting.
