In Belleville CEO this week, we got to listen to an incredible presentation on laser sensing and the utility of it in cars and other things. Ransom Wuller is the one of the co-founders of AEYE. As an aspiring engineer, I found a lot of his details on lasers interesting. While I’m obviously way behind him in being knowledgeable about lasers, the way he was able to explain it allowed me to really engage with what he was saying as if I was an expert in it myself. I also hadn’t thought of the problem he ran into where his company had developed something so advanced that it almost wasn’t useful yet. I’ve always thought that amazing ideas and products would sell like hot cakes, but he helped me understand that you always have to keep the customer in mind and whether they want extra for more money or not. All in all, I thought Mr. Wuller’s presentation was one of the best we have had in class so far.
