This year in the Belleville CEO program has been transformative for both my personal and professional growth. One of the biggest changes I’ve experienced is in my confidence. Before CEO, I struggled to speak up, engage in conversations, or put myself out there. Through this program, I learned to step outside my comfort zone. Today, I’m much more comfortable networking, problem-solving under pressure, and presenting myself with confidence.
A skill I’m especially proud of strengthening is my ability to communicate with adults and ask for support when I need it. In the past, I would’ve hesitated or tried to push through challenges alone. CEO taught me that asking questions and building connections are not weaknesses—they’re essential tools for growth. That mindset shift has made a big difference in my development.
One defining moment was asking the board for additional funding. I was incredibly nervous, but pushing through that fear showed me how real growth comes from leaning into discomfort. That experience—and others—helped me become more resilient and resourceful.
Throughout the year, I also learned the importance of teamwork and adaptability. Whether helping classmates or supporting our class CEO, I focused on staying flexible and dependable. Keeping calm, open communication helped our team avoid conflict and work smoothly, showing me how vital collaboration is to success.
Creating my business, Leaf by Leaf, is one of my proudest accomplishments. It taught me that with purpose and passion, anything is possible. CEO helped me understand that failure isn’t final—it’s a chance to learn and grow stronger.
This program also shaped my goals. Because of the confidence I gained, I applied to a college housing program for business majors—an opportunity I wouldn’t have pursued otherwise. I’m committed to continuing the habit of networking and building meaningful connections.
Lastly, I’m deeply grateful for the mentors I met, especially the inspiring female entrepreneurs who showed me what leadership and resilience look like. Thanks to CEO, I feel better prepared for the future—and more confident in who I want to become.
