We met with Keith and Dahm Schell at the Edge where I noticed the importance of starting your business off small then expanding on what you have. That method has carried everything that they have done as a business and it has been a great success. I also noticed that their focus is on having great efficiency and that is the biggest driving factor in most of their business decisions. The Schell's story reminded me that I am going to hear the word “no” a lot, but I have to keep moving forward. It also reminded me to do lots of research, to always look to evolve over time, and know your comparative advantage. I learned more about how much harder small businesses have to work compared to bigger corporations too. A piece of advice that stuck out to me was “Know everything you talk about, but don’t talk about everything you know”.
