About Me

From the time I was born, I’ve wanted to start my own business, and everyone knew it, too. From the way I talked and dressed, to the way I tried to apply leadership skills to all my endeavors, it was very obvious that someday I would be an entrepreneur. Before I truly knew what “entrepreneur” meant, I knew how to spell it, and when adults asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, “entrepreneur” was always my answer.

Yet, the word “entrepreneur” is changing for me, as every entrepreneurial opportunity I’ve had has failed or been scratched before launching. As a Belleville East and Dual Enrolled SWIC student, a flag football team captain, photographer, filmmaker, baker, influencer and fashionista, I constantly ask myself: Who am I and why am I not the person I thought I’d be? I’ve acquired so many skills, and so many hobbies, yet I’ve never been successful or satisfied.

As reluctant as I was to sign up for CEO, I'm glad I did, because I truly believe this program can help me start something I can finish and be part of something bigger than myself. And no, I still do not know what “entrepreneur” means as there is no finite definition or limit to what entrepreneurship is or can be. But, I am confident that everything is entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurship is everything. I will not yield to a Webster dictionary definition of entrepreneurship. Instead, I’ll redefine the boundaries of entrepreneurship to represent all of who I am. The good thing is, I have already started. And thanks to Belleville CEO, I’m confident I can finish.
