The two most valuable lessons I have learned from this program are to never be afraid to help someone else or take up extra work and to never discount the little things, as they may become something extremely crucial to success later on. By helping others complete their tasks, the group inches closer to our end goal, like the class business. When someone helps another person reach a goal, we all succeed, too. Also, by helping others, that person may remember your kind act, and then help you in return the next time you need help. This reimbursement contributes to building relationships within your group which then strengthens the whole group in turn. In group work, there is always something that needs to be completed but is not assigned to anyone to do or is a daunting task. Many a time, while it may not be pleasant to do, being the one that takes up that task ends up benefiting you more than if you did not. For example, when you become the one to take up difficult tasks, you become someone trustworthy and reliable. You gain respect from those in your group, and people start to look at you as a leader. The second most valuable quality I have gained from CEO is to always notice and remember the little things. Oftentimes, one small detail is the difference between good and great, so remembering these tiny details, and knowing how to handle them can truly set you apart from the crowd. It is entirely possible to learn something valuable from a small thing, such as a greeting. That small, thirty second conversation can provide you with some piece of information or skill that you may need later on. Starting my own small business has also given me skills and tools that I will carry out through life, but the most important tool I have learned is that it is just fine to change your mind or start over. It is always possible to make improvements because nothing is ever perfect. Changing your mind is alright, and it is important to listen to yourself and decide what is best for you because, ultimately, you are the one that must create the product, bring it to life, and sell it. It must be something that you can pride yourself on.
