This school year has been one of the biggest learning experiences I’ve ever had. When I first started, I honestly didn’t think I could run my own business. It felt like something way out of my reach. But with the help of my classmates and everything I learned through the CEO program, I realized I was capable of way more than I gave myself credit for. One of the biggest things I learned is how important community is — being good at something is great, but being surrounded by people who are also great at what they do makes all the difference.
Over the year, I built a lot of new skills. Leading the decoration team for our class business helped me grow as a leader, and working on my 30-second pitch sharpened my public speaking. But what I’m most proud of is how much my networking skills improved. I learned that something as simple as a strong handshake and good eye contact can really leave an impression.
One challenge I faced was figuring out my personal business. At first, I wanted to host a chess tournament, but after thinking it through, I realized it wouldn’t be as exciting as I hoped. Switching to smoothies was a big decision, but it taught me to trust my gut and adapt when things aren’t working out.
This year also changed the way I see entrepreneurship. I learned it’s not easy — you have to have everything ready to go, because one small mistake can cost you. But through it all, I developed a mindset of grit, pushing through obstacles instead of backing down.
Looking ahead, CEO has motivated me to keep creating — maybe even start a YouTube channel or TikTok. I’m excited to keep improving my people skills too. I’m really grateful to my classmates for making this year so fun. If I had to give advice to next year’s students, it would be: show up ready to learn, work hard, and enjoy every minute of it.
