Shawn Minick

About Me

I am a senior at Althoff Catholic High School. I became enticed to partake in Belleville CEO due to the passion and perseverance demonstrated by the last year’s class. I saw it as an opportunity at bettering myself and benefiting the future that lies ahead of me. I hope that this program will allow me to further establish my communication skills, critical thinking, determination, and knowledge in networking and business. 

For the span of my years here at Althoff, I have been a consistent High Honors student, along with being a varsity athlete on both Cross Country and Wrestling. I also managed to make the podium for the IHSA Wrestling State Championship for two consecutive years. Through these sports, I learned a great deal about myself and the capabilities I have to lead out the life I want to live. It engrained me with the mindset to rise above adversity and break free from the shackles of mediocrity. I am also a current member in the National Honors Society as I am able to work amongst my peers that will utilize their talents, motivation, and benevolence to bring forth a brighter tomorrow. I am now currently enlisted in the United States Air National Guard to help towards tuition and being able to enforce a greater change in this nation we live in.

I am a strong-willed, empathetic, and passionate individual that wants to leave a mark on the world. No one can achieve immortality, and perhaps that’s the beauty of human nature. But the legacy one leaves behind is eternal. Some of my interests when I have time to myself include reading, listening to podcasts, music, writing and poetry, exercising, and watching films. I plan on attending University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign in the fall of 2022 and major in Communications.
